The weather’s beautiful, and the fish are biting in Port Aransas.
At Dolphin Dock, employee Gary Carter said a 12-hour excursion offshore Wednesday brought back amberjack, vermilion snapper, grouper, wahoo, pompano and a 150-pound spinner shark.
A bay trip today resulted in catches of sheepshead and Spanish mackerel, he said.
At Woody’s Sports Center, Jessi Gaskins said the whiting are biting. Boats are coming back with dozens of them, she said.
Anglers also are catching redfish and black drum in the bays, Gaskins said.
Marsha Walker at Deep Sea Headquarters said a recent 24-hour trip offshore resulted in a catch of about 100 blackfin tuna and limits of amberjack.
