Farley Boats set the standard along the Gulf Coast for fishing and sport from 1915 to the mid-1970s. Three generations of the Farley family designed and built the Farley Boat in the back of their home in Port Aransas, Texas.
The Port Aransas Museum is putting together an effort to bring that treasure back for fisherman and leisurely woodworkers alike in a working boat-building exhibit.
There's some interesting history behind the Farley Boat, notably President Franklin Delano Roosevelt who visited Port Aransas on several occasions and became very fond of fishing for Tarpon on a Farley Boat.
